Great quality for the price
December 16, 2018
I have 6 of these rods and we've used them for bottom fishing and trolling. We've accidentally overloaded them on several occasions and they just take it and don't break. There are better and more expensive rods out there but I've a ton of fish on these rods and they just keep going.
Pros
  • Great value.

Would these be a good rod for fishing for large redfish and live bait fishing for tarpon around inlets and jetties? I would pair with a 6500 spinning reel.
1 Answer
Hi Tom, I would recommend a Ugly Stik USTEJG80130S601 Tiger Elite Jig Spinning Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/ugly-stik-ustejg80130s601-tiger-elite-jig-spinning-rod.html This would give you the most power to fight large Tarpon and redfish and would be easier to get the fish out of structure faster which is critical when Tarpon fishing. Could the 66 of this rod hold up to tuna jigging/throwing poppers? If so what size tuna would be the max
1 Answer
Hi Tyler, The Ugly Stik Tiger Elite Jig Spinning Rods would be ideal for jigging for tuna up to 100lbs but not ideal for throwing poppers. I would recommend a Ocean Tackle International TS2 Popping Rod. Specifically model: OTI-TS284060; TD Code: OTI-TS284060. https://www.tackledirect.com/ocean-tackle-international-oti-ts284060-ts2-popping-rod.html This rod would be ideal for throwing poppers to tuna.
