Light action striper rod
July 14, 2021
I fish for striped bass in S.C. the light action striper rods are by far the best rod for the money. I used the med-light for years but the light action is much better for down lines. I would put this rod up against any other rod regardless of cost for down lining live herring. The soft tip let’s them take the bait and the rod has a surprisingly strong backbone. It will handle a large striper no problem.

I am looking for a couple of two -piece Ugly-stik rods with a medium/light 7 ft. of so size. I love the Striper you have but its a one piece rod and I need a break down type.....I prefer stainless guides /Rubber handgrips /2-piece construction/ bait casting style/ and Gimble if possible not mandatory but it would be nice......Just find me this rod in two-piece....timcavey@yahoo.com

Ugly Stik makes a few 2 piece rods that might fit what your looking for.  Also Okuma has some seriously nice travel rods that come with nice cases as well.  There are even some with different tips for different actions that you can customize your rod, depending on the area or type of fishing you would be doing that day.
