Excellent quality at a budget price
July 27, 2022
I have several of the 7 foot heavy action rod and cannot be happier with the purchases. Excellent balance and quality at a budget price. I paired it with the tsunami shield 3000 and 15lbs power pro braid. At slightly over 1 pound for the combo, you can fluke all day long and won’t have a dead arm. The heavy action rod is perfect for fluking using bucktails, and it’s sensitive enough to feel the thump. Accidentally hooked a cow nose ray and it handled it with no problems.

Loving it
June 17, 2022
Great feel. First day it easily handled a 5lb Jack Crevale. Second day it out muscled a 10lb+ Sierra Mackerel that did a run unlike i've seen. The quality for the price is unreal. My second Tsunami rod.

I bought this rod to pair with a Legalis 4000 real. This set up was my primary rod for casting lures in the surf. Great back bone and just an all around good rod. I am more than pleased with its perforce. Handled big reds with ease. I will buy more!
Pros
  • Cast well
  • Good backbone
  • very sensitive to strikes
  • Performs extremely well at price point.
Cons
  • One piece hard to travel with. But I knew that going in.

This is my fav rod. Cork grips for a nice feel, lightweight, nice flex but still tough. Good for I'd say up to about a 10/12 lb saltwater fish. Nicely balanced with a Tsunami 4000 reel.

Tsunami 701H and 701MH Spinning Rods
November 29, 2021
I Didn't know anything about these rods. Never even heard of them. Took a chance.
My other half wanted a lightweight spinning rod that she could handle for some Tennessee Striper fishing.
I saw this 701H and it fit all her needs. Powerful lightweight moderate action spinning rod for jigging. I put a 4000 series Penn reel and 30# Braid line with it. 3/4 to 2 ounce jigs. It does the job.
She also wanted a lightweight spinning rod for live baiting Striper. The 701MH is quite a bit softer than the 701H. I set it up with a 4000 series Penn reel and 15# Floroclear line. A 3/4 to 1 1/2 ounce egg sinker and 5/0 circle hook is a perfect match for feeding those big guys a shad.
These rods are so nice. I bought i of each for myself. My nephew also bought a couple.
Pros
  • Won't break the bank lightweight powerful moderate action rods.
Cons
  • None so far

Multi fish rod
October 29, 2020
I purchased 2 of these rods and outfitted wove Alet sx reels. I fish salt water out of a boat in the Cape Cod area. We caught Back Sea Bass, Fluke, Scup, Tautog, and some blue fish. I have many rod setups but love fishing this light weight with some back bone. Great for the money.

Worth it for the $

Oversized packaging worth it, I have saved the tube for moving and travel.

I have pulled 4'-5' sharks on this medium heavy rod, and 20" - 30" snook, both are just as fun!

OK but not Medium Heavy

Good quality but these should be rated medium and not medium heavy. I would get these again and just go up one level

I’ve tried just about all. These rods are amazing for the price! This spinning rod is still going strong after 4 years and handling everything from 1/2 lb scup to full day assault of 30 lb Stripers. Most underrated rod manufacturer out there. Happy I tried it, now commited!
