Great for a variety of species and exceptional for fluke!  These ball jigs are very productive lures straight out of the package. Some anglers fish the jig solo and others like to rig it with a teaser (above) or a trailer (behind).

Tsunami Ball Jigs are constructed with molded stainless steel attachment loops, top quality swivels and premium Mustad Stainless Steel hooks. Appealing, over sized "Target Eyes" and reflective holographic foil are installed on each model to help trigger strikes from predators. Genuine bucktail and holographic sparkle follow in the rear surrounding each hook.
  • Cast, jig or drift
  • Reinforced stainless steel attachment loops
  • Epoxy coated with Mustad Stainless Steel Siwash hooks
  • Extra strong, chrome swivels
  • Dressed with genuine bucktail

Great for beginners

These are great lures for anglers learning how to jig. The tend to get hung-up much less than the standard jig heads. The hold up well to use, the shank could be longer to better accommodate trailers like Gulp grubs, but will handle strips just fine
Pros
  • easy to use
  • hold up to abuse
Cons
  • short shank

These ball jigs have been a game changer when fishing structure, especially when there are novice people fishing on your boat and trying to learn how to jig fish. They tend to get hung up less than standard ball jigs of the same weight. The are effective with or without a trailer...the 3-4oz sizes have been deadly for us down to 60'ft with slower drifts. They do trail well with meat strips (squid, belly), live bait (especially mullet), and of course GULP. I prefer to use 6" grubs off shore, but the shanks are a little short so I will actually cut a small portion off when trailing up. Deadly flounder and bass set is the white jig with pink shine grub...5" grubs fit the best, but the 6" seem to attract a bigger bite.
Pros
  • easy to use
  • hang-up less than standard jigs
  • effective with or without a trailer
  • trails everything from meat and live bait to plastics well
Cons
  • could use a longer shank to help with setting trailing pastics

I remove the bucktail hook and attach a rigged 9 or 10" Hogy/Sluggo to the swivel. I them slow roll it in the surf on sandy beaches just above or on the bottom. Killer.

Good fluke jigs
April 2, 2020
These are awesome fluke jigs. I love to use these both in the backbay and on the wrecks. They have great action especially when rigged with gulp grubs. They have awesome action because they hook has free movement increasing the action. I do with the bucktail aspect was tied better.
Pros
  • Action
  • Sizes
Cons
  • Bucktail tying could be better

Good for Fluke

Have caught many fluke (and Sea Robin) on this jig tipped with a spearing. Holds bottom better than a bucktail. The thread came unwrapped on one and the hair fell off, but I fish them hard.
Pros
  • Catch fish. Nice Action
Cons
  • Iffy construction of tail

Cool jig, something different..

I like them, they get to the bottom! I don't think I've ever had a fluke take one, they have always gone for the gulp on the tandem.
