i got this rod for throwing topwater baits to Tuna, Dorado, Jacks and Roosters and I have not been disappointed at all but pleasantly surprised. Great stiffness and response for poppers especially. Haven't caught any fish larger than 20lbs on it yet but it performed great and casts well.
Pros
  • Stiffness, snappiness for poppers
  • K guides
  • Value for money
Cons
  • None so far

Was looking to spend 3 to 4 times the money until a friend turned me onto this rod. I have yet to use it, but have coupled it with my Saragosa 20000 and by all appearances, looks to be a killer combination.
Pros
  • Price and quality
Cons
  • None found yet.

nj
best rod brand out there for the price

They are literally manufactured around the corner from where i live ( less than 5 miles) in Mahwah NJ and are truly fantastic. I would recommend this company to anyone, plain and simple. This is my current pole from bottom fishing to Mahi Mahi and even smaller sharks. I even caught a 300+lb shark on my tsunami reel rated for 40 lb and my tsunami pole rated for 80-100 pound line in a chum slick 10 ft from the boat and wrenched him in. My father went out and bought a $300 custom rod years back for it's lightness and sensitivity, but when i handed him my rod to hold so i could get a sandwich, he he wouldn't give it back and went out and bought one of these. The thing is so sensitive you can literally feel the types of ocean floor terrain you are on, and distinguish bites from that, and also it is light as a feather.

Pros
  • Well worth the money. Very sensitive. Light as a feather. Strong poles. Very good looking.
Cons
  • Absolutely none. Best rod i have ever used, and i have used a lot!

How many inches is the rear butt to where the reel sits? I’d like to tuck it under my armpit for popping lures. Would a Shimano Saragossa 6000 it Spheros 6000 be too heavy to pair with this?
1 Answer
18 inches and the 6000 series saragosa would be a perfect fit for this rod

how much does this rod weigh? Is it a fairly light rod?
1 Answer
The Tsunami TSAWEBWS-862H Airwave Elite Blue Water Spin Rod is discontinued and no longer available for purchasing. From what i remember this rod is a lighter rod than most rods in it's size range.
