Does this come with complimentary spooling of wire line on this combo set? If so, what would you recommend for fishing stripe bass (eg 200ft dacron; 300 ft 50 lb wire; 10 ft 50lb momo?)  thx

1 Answer
Hi Krit, The Tsunami Trophy TSTBC-661HW / Penn 113H2SP Special Senator Wire Line Casting Combo does not come spooled with free wireline. I would recommend spooling the combo with Malin Soft Monel Pre-Marked Trolling Wire. Specifically Model: PM50-300; TackleDirect Code: MAL-0021. https://www.tackledirect.com/malin-pm50-300-soft-monel-trolling-wire.html. I would recommend spooling the reel with 50lb braid backing, 300ft of 50lb Pre-marked Trolling Wire; Connected to 15ft of 50lb Clear mono. When placing your order, please include a note in the comments section with your specific spooling instructions. We are able to offer our house monofilament free of charge with the purchase of a reel, just include the lb test and the color you prefer. If you would like your reel(s) spooled up with a specific monofilament other than our house mono, braid (solid or hollow), or fluorocarbon line, please add that to your order along with your spooling instructions within the notes. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Won’t the aluminium spook rot out from the electrolyzing action of the wire line and salt water? Shouldn’t it be a higher grade metal or graphite?

Hello, This model reel has a bronze spool to prevent that issue.

How is this combo to troll off a boat with wireline for stripers in the Long Island sound Will the guides on the rod stand up to Wireline
1 Answer
The guides on the TSTBC-661HW will hold up to using wire line. Customers have used this combo fishing the South Jersey area for striped bass fishing and had excellent results.
