    SMOOTH COMBO
    April 2, 2020
I AM NOT NEW TO THE TSUNAMI BRAND, THIS COMBO IS GREAT IF YOU DONT WANT TO SPEND ALOT OF MONEY.
    Pros
    • GREAT CASTING REEL WITH AGREAT HANDLE. GOOD ROD. THE ROD FEELS RELIABLE.
    Cons
    • ROD WOULD BE BETTER IF IT WERE A TWO PIECE

    Good for the money

No rod breakage. 2 separate packages. Rod in one and reel in another. I ordered 2 and they same good quality. About to test them out inshore. Reels are larger than I thought they would.

This reel is nice and durable and looks good too! Holds a good amount of line and the rod has a sturdy backbone. All around worth the price!

    Groovy. I like it.

The bail doesn't close when I turn the handle.....Let me rephrase.... The thing locks up....won't turn to close the bail. So. Being the dumb dumb I am, I say to myself..."well....maybe that's a feature so you don't add line twist."..?€? duh.

In any event. I manually move my bail. So no big deal....just freaked me out. (maybe I left the tab in.?€?..like on a new solar landscape light).

The reel is as slick as owl excretions Positive anti-reverse... great drag....line capacity.
I like the rod too. (no breakage like in other reviews).

Shipping on the other hand was a pain in the rumpass. 2 packages...?€? 2 different delivery days...?€?. damn near week apart.

But 80 bucks...?€? free shipping... (minus the $8 tube you gotta buy. Look for my review on that....Oh yeah. They asked.) For the price I paid, I'm pretty ok with it so far.

Tell you what. I ordered the Penn Pursuit III from another vendor the same day I ordered this.
I think it's either a 4000 or 5000 reel and a 7' rod. The reel is groovy..... not so much the rod.
I'd get another Tsunami over a Penn.
    Just my 2 cents

    Broken rod twice
    March 20, 2019
The reel is good! No complaints about the reel. The rod however broke on me twice! The first time my sister was casting a 1 1/2 oz sinker and it snapped in half, on the top half of the rod. ON THE VERY FIRST CAST EVER FOR THAT ROD!

Tackledirect is awesome! I order from these guys any time I need something. With that said, the exchange for the rod was easy, because of their customer service!

Sadly, the second rod broke again. Same place as the first one. Not sure if it’ll get replaced this time, and I don’t even want a new one, I’m just keeping happy by saying that the value is in the reel..
    Pros
    • Great reel. Cool looking rod.
    Cons
    • The top half of the rod is weak, brittle and breaks very easy!

    Shittiest rod ever
    February 20, 2019
The reel is amazing, however the rod is the shittiest rod ever made. 1 cast with a 1 1/2 oz jig and SNAP so pissed. Don’t waste your money.
    Pros
    • Nice reel
    • Wicked smooth
    • Large line capacity.
    Cons
    • Shitty rod

best rod brand out there for the price
    December 10, 2018
They are literally manufactured around the corner from where i live ( less than 5 miles) in Mahwah NJ and are truly fantastic. I would recommend this company to anyone, plain and simple. This is my current pole from bottom fishing to Mahi Mahi and even smaller sharks. I even caught a 300+lb shark on my tsunami reel rated for 40 lb and my tsunami pole rated for 80-100 pound line in a chum slick 10 ft from the boat and wrenched him in. My father went out and bought a $300 custom rod years back for it's lightness and sensitivity, but when i handed him my rod to hold so i could get a sandwich, he he wouldn't give it back and went out and bought one of these. The thing is so sensitive you can literally feel the types of ocean floor terrain you are on, and distinguish bites from that, and also it is light as a feather.
    Pros
    • Well worth the money. Very sensitive. Light as a feather. Strong poles. Very good looking.
    Cons
    • Absolutely none. Best rod i have ever used, and i have used a lot!
