I am now ordering my third 11' Tsaumi airWave conventional surf rod. This rod is a true pleasure do to its very light weight and a great handle. I wish they made these as 12 or 13 foot. With its light weight you can cast quite times per session without needing a rest.
Pros
  • weight, long handle, great price
Cons
  • I'd love seeing even longer Ones

Great rod at a great price! One of the lightest rods I have. Even my friends are shocked at how light it is! Great with a Penn Squall 15!

Tsunami TSAWSC1102XH Airwaves Conventional Surf Rod

I finally had a chance to put this rod to work last weekend. Loaded up nicely with half of a medium blue crab and 4 oz spider weight. Casted 80 to 90 yards consistently. The reel I used was a Penn Fathom II15 ds out of the box with 50lb braid. Note the reel has not been altered as of this time so I expect that once the grease has been removed and oil applied instead my distance should increase.
Pros
  • Nice and light to me.
Cons
  • None at this time.

Great Rod Great Price

I sold my 12 foot Mojo and replaced with this rod at less than half the price. I found the Mojo difficult to cast at my height, the handle is too long. This rod feels like it was custom made for me. I'm 5'10". Casting bunker head +6oz seems to be the sweet spot
Pros
  • Quality and price cant be beat
Cons
  • Might be overrated on the specs for 10oz.
  • Not sure yet

Used this for a total of 3 weeks, got it in 2015. Used on the beach for 1 week each year.
tip broke off about 6 inches down while only casting a 6 oz weight set up.
Pros
  • Light and sensitive.
Cons
  • Not built strong enough for an 8 oz rig as rated.

best rod brand out there for the price
July 17, 2018
They are literally manufactured around the corner from where i live ( less than 5 miles) in Mahwah NJ and are truly fantastic. I would recommend this company to anyone, plain and simple. This is my current pole from bottom fishing to Mahi Mahi and even smaller sharks. I even caught a 300+lb shark on my tsunami reel rated for 40 lb and my tsunami pole rated for 80-100 pound line in a chum slick 10 ft from the boat and wrenched him in. My father went out and bought a $300 custom rod years back for it's lightness and sensitivity, but when i handed him my rod to hold so i could get a sandwich, he he wouldn't give it back and went out and bought one of these. The thing is so sensitive you can literally feel the types of ocean floor terrain you are on, and distinguish bites from that, and also it is light as a feather.
Pros
  • Well worth the money. Very sensitive. Light as a feather. Strong poles. Very good looking.
Cons
  • Absolutely none. Best rod i have ever used, and i have used a lot!

Great overall rod

I've used this rod about 8 trips now. I own the same in conventional and they both work great. The rod is light and has done well when hooked on big rays. Only downside is the butt is really thick and has trouble fitting in the fishing cart holder (fish-n-mate jr)

Own a Tsunami 10â€â"¢ trophy casting really like ,want to buy 10â€â"¢ Airwave casting rod is it about same thick handle and length and weight compared to trophy series . Thanks
1 Answer
The Airwaves are similar in size compared to the Trophy. The handle is a bit thinner on the Airwave. For casting ability i would recommend using the Airwave over the Trophy.
