Ever wondered how many follows you had, how your baits actually run at depth? This is a super easy way to see it clearly. Rig it just like a FishHawk on a downrigger and you can see the follows, the strikes, etc.
Pros
  • Easy to rig
  • Durable
  • Fairly quiet in the water
Cons
  • Difficult to access buttons on camera
  • You have to remove camera to change/charge battery

Great product.

I Purchased a GoPro HERO3+ Silver Before Duck season and found it to have fantastic filming quality for outdoor use.
It has since been used to document many of my fishing trips with unreal results, Definitely worth a purchase,
I then discovered the TrollPro wich is a housing for the GoPro, I have put this thing behind my downrigger in salt water and have seen so many fish chase lures and just about SMELL them then turn away only a split second later to be snapped by another fish!
Another thing that is unreal about the TrollPro is that I have seen fish species following the lures that I never knew were there until I watched the video, I was Trolling for Salmon and when I came home I saw that I was on top of a big school of snapper with a few of them bumping the lures but no takers.
This thing is totally wild!

How does it work for trolling at lower speed, like 3 to 4 knots? Or will it wind up just pointing down? I am thinking about pulling it behind my kayak while trolling for mahi.
1 Answer
You may be better off mounting this in a fixed position trolling low speeds, it would most likely point down

Could this housing be used to drop vertically to scout for rocks and ledges up to 100 ft?
1 Answer
You could do that but it may be hard to keep the housing faced downed while scouting, all depends on the current

Curious to know which housing would work best for drifting for halibut. Average depth is 12 feet but can go as deep as 25 feet
1 Answer
This would work good. The camera is weighted but may require additional weight added.

What is the biggest difference between the 3 and the dredge pro? Are they the same just the dredge has the capability for 6 arms? are they the same depth?
1 Answer
The only difference is the Dredge Pro has cut outs to internally insert a dredge bar (4 or 6 arm). The standard Troll Pro 3 has an eyelet that you connect to a swivel. Other than this the capabilities are the same.
