Tournament Cable shark rigs are made with several features that you won't find in any others. Here in the Northeast we do a fair amount of shark fishing and so each of these rigs were designed and based upon first-hand knowledge. The features built into these rigs are each for a definite purpose. As you read and think about each one you will see that these rigs are truely unique. All our rigs have a 3oz. weighted swivel at the end of the leader. This swivel serves two important purposes. While drifting, which is the preferred method on this coast, at times it becomes necssary to add a weight to the rigs because of the speed of the wind and current. The added weight helps keep the baits positioned at the proper depth. Most weights are added to the leader with rubber bands which can cause excess line twist and are usually more trouble than their worth. The weighted swivel makes a much cleaner set-up. Another advantage with the weighted swivel is the size. The swivel fits perfectly in the palm of the hand and is just large enough to enable you to take a good grip. This will all come into play during the end-game when you want to get the shark along side. The swivel gives you something to grab onto and pull. You DON'T have to take any wraps of the cable. You can actually grab the leader with both hands and the swivel will act as a stop making it much easier to hold and control the shark at the boat. If you can't hold on and have to let go it's just a matter of opening your hands. No wraps around the hands which means there is less chance of a serious accident. This feature can't be over-emphasized.
