I bought these to use in my Lee's fixed holders until the swivels arrived. I expected to be able to set a level of tension, but they don't seem to allow that. If I tighten them at all, they lock up tight when going clockwise and loosen the other. This might be okay for starboard side, but I happen to only have one starboard side on the boat.

I need to be able to set the direction the rods are going when the water gets rough, otherwise I have rod tips swinging all around and popping clips. If you just want free swivel operation, just drop golf balls down the existing holders.

These are also a little bit tall, so depending on the butt and your existing rod holder, they may make things a little awkward.
