The Thundermist SS Viper Spoon Lures are made with titanium wire and are single strand with ultra-sharp hooks. These lures are made for saltwater fishing. These lures are simply, a highly productive fish-catching lure which triggers the predatory instincts of virtually all species of fish. The hooks are super sharp/strong big game hooks.

Thundermist Viper spoon

I used the SS20-B Viper for close off shore, on party boats and private boats (NJ). I am partial to gold on sunny days and silver on over cast days. Also utilized their T-swivel a must for my application (also can save you by only losing a weight only). I saw Thundermist at the NJ saltwater show a couple years back.
Pros
  • Works as advertised. Caught wide variety of species. Target was Flounder and Sea Bass and worked but was surprised as anything seemed to hit it, including Ling, dog fish, eel, sea robins and was really surprised that a black fish hit it (keeper but out of season). Peers were skeptical and using standard high low, flounder or Spro setups. I was close to high hook, but what I caught was larger.
Cons
  • As anything pricy to lose, but so are Spos..

Spoon is flimsy but has good movement. Wouldn't recommend using on rough bottom. Can get expensive.
Pros
  • Good movement
Cons
  • Pricey

Viper Spoons

Tried the Viper Spoons after seeing the YouTube videos, they have a really nice action to them with a whole squid. Fishing has been slow but i managed to pick up a nice Sea Bass and several annoying Dogfish.

The videos say to use 2-2.5 feet of leader for the sinker and the same for the lure leader......this caused many tangles on the way up and down. I find if you cut the sinker leader to about 18 inches it doesn't tangle.
Pros
  • Well Made
  • Nice Action in the Water

Great addition to my Flounder gear when the fish aren't biting on gulp. Add a squid strip and this Viper spoon is golden.
