When your rod stays in the rod holder until you intentionally remove it. I know that seems like a simple goal but if you try other clamp on rod holders you'll find this one has the rare ability to stay where you put it and not dump your favorite jiggin stick in the big blue.

Great option for extra rod holders off the side of my T top. Keeps them up in the air when kids are on board - I don't have the full rocket launcher set up
