I bought 2 combos that included this rod then went back and bought another rod as I loved it so much. Paired it with a nice baitcaster and it is perfect for jigging up flounder, tog, and sea bass. My favorite go to rod!

Great rod

A great rod for the money. Inshore rod for all around fishing. Have it matched with a Daiwa Seagate 20 and 30lb braid. Handles Stripers blues and bottom fishing and will use it for bonito and skipjacks/inshore tuna this fall. Very impressed with the quality for the price. Very similar to a Tsunami , probably made in same factory. Overall build quality is excellent and price can't be beat so you'll have no problem using and even abusing it.

Looking for a lighter inshore rod paired with Daiwa Tanacom 500 electric reel for black seabass in 100-200 ft water. Is this rod compatible? If not, could you please recommend one which I prefer  to be on the lighter side?
1 Answer
The medium or the medium heavy Tallus Blue water in the 7 foot model would be a good lighter version to pair with the Tanacom 500

Would a penn jigmaster be too big for this rod.
1 Answer
If you needed the line capacity its not a bad reel for that rod it will however not be well balanced. The jigmaster belongs on a slightly more stout rod.

Can i use 8or10oz lure weight for bottom fishing?
1 Answer
Hi Renato, The TackleDirect Silver Hook Series Inshore Conventional Rod. Model: TDSSC701MHT; TackleDirect Code: TDA-0731 has a lure weight rating up to 6oz. I wouldn't recommend using 8 -10oz of lead on this rod. I would suggest the TackleDirect Silver Hook Conventional Jigging Rod. Model: TDSCJ661H; TackleDirect Code: TDA-1435. This can hold 8oz of lead and can be used for heavy bottom fishing applications. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Can i use  lures like rapala x-rap or any other small hard lures to catch a sea Bass with this rod ??
1 Answer
Sea bass are typically found on the bottom or slightly suspended and these lures wouldn't get deep enough for you to get in the strike zone. For artificials for sea bass, I recommend going with vertical and bucktail jigs to get the larger fish from the schools. Any type of vertical, diamond, or epoxy jig will work well to catch the larger ones.
