Surprised at the strength

Had a big eagle ray hook on, with runs that would have broken most rods- hey, my reel is no longer the same after. Suffice to say it got away (those things fight like nothing else out there), but the fact this rod survived goes to show you that it is a good rod especially for the price. Like how it feels in my hands, too. May buy another sooner than later.

Only thing I didn’t notice when I ordered it was there is no eye to hook your lure on when not fishing. You have to hook it to the handle or one of the eyes on the rod

Excellent Rods

I currently own 4 TDSS701MH rods. They are sensitive, sturdy and very well built. I use them mostly for inshore fishing from our boat. The cork handles feel great in your hands and are sensitive enough to feel your lure bounce on the bottom. Love them!
Pros
  • Sensitive, sturdy, looks great, price is affordable.

Great Rod for the pricepoint
August 8, 2016
I bought 2 of these to keep on my boat for inshore species and for friends and family who don't have too much saltwater experience. The first two trips I made with them we hammered fluke and this rod performed admirably. All in all, a great rod with good sensitivity and backbone. They're perfect for my guests and I found myself dropping some bucktails and pulling in some good fluke as well. Nicely done TD!
