Why wont  these work was slow pitch jigging

Hi Dave, The TackleDirect Silver Hook Jigging rod is designed for speed jigging which means the rod is designed to have a fast taper and recovery time when jigging. Slow pitch jigging rods have a very moderate taper and have a slower recovery time to neutral position when jigging allowing the jig to have the action it is designed to have. Would a Penn Battle 3 DX 6000 balance on the Medium rod? 


And would the Battle 3DX 8000 balance well for the M/H rod?


My application is for everything in or near Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz.

Hi Tim, The TackleDirect Silver Hook Jigging rods are around 9-11oz in weight depending on if you go with the medium, medium heavy, or heavy rod. These rods are designed for general jigging purposes and are not considered slow pitch jigging rods. We recommend the 6000 size reel for the medium rod. The 8000 on the medium heavy rod may be heavy for the setup therefore we also recommend the 6000 on the medium heavy rod as well. These setups will work well with your application.
