I bought this combo because I am phasing out my heavy baitcaster reels to spinning reels due to arthritis in both hands. This combo has made it easer when working heavy fish. I first thought the rod was under sized but then saw it work and realized the lifting power it has. No problems what so ever. Very pleased with combo.

I already know the quality of Silver Hook rod since this was not the first SH rood I have.
The BGMQ 6000 is light reel with powerful drag. Spooled it with 40lb braid and will use it for rock fish mainly and occasionally for surf when casting heavier weights and baits. The reel is sleek, smooth and sealed but for the price and it stands between the Penn Spinfisher Series and the Slammers. A few more or less $$$ might not make much of a difference when comparing the three but the drag rating, line capacity and weight must be considered when comparing this reel to the other two.
