What reel can you use other than an electric 130w an 80w ?

Hi Briar, We recommend using 80w and 130w electric reels or LP style reels for dredges as they can handle the weight of the drag that the dredge puts on the reels. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!

Hi Marlin, The TackleDirect Platinum Hook Dredge Rods are made to be used with heavy monofilament line only. I would recommend a Tsunami TSTBC 761HW Trophy Wire Line Casting Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/tsunami-tstbc-761hw-trophy-wire-line-casting-rod.html This rod would work well with your penn reel for wireline fishing applications.
