The TackleDirect Frog Tongue Sinker is molded in a unique shape that provides several benefits for surf anglers. Frog Tongue Sinkers are highly aerodynamic which helps them cast great distances, while their flattened profile creates a stable base for them to lay on their side while on the bottom and resist being taken by the current. The notched shape near the line tie helps the sinker work its way into the sand with the undertow, creating a secure hold.

Sticky just like a frogs tongue!!!

Frog tongue sinkers are new to me. But , man oh man are they awesome! The shape makes them aerodynamic and the holding power is amazing! I used them on a day when there was tons of seaweed and heavy surf. While other fishermen’s lines were being thrown hitherto and henceforth, my line remained steadfast! Will definitely buy again!
Cons
  • None! If you need them, buy them!

Holds well to the bottom in sand, gravel and mud.

The perfect shape for surf fishing over gravel, sand and mud bottoms. I've switched from pyramid shape sinkers to these.

As expected

They performed as expected, pretty similar to a pyramid weight but supposedly more holding power, I cant tell much of a difference if any. I use storm sinkers too (like a half pyramid, half oblong cylinder) and they all perform about the same honestly. They all have pros and cons like casting distance, ease of reeling in, and holding power but IMO there's not enough difference between them to really matter.
Pros
  • Weight options for different situations.

Pyramid sinkers at this weight would slide in the current but this tongue weight stays put without having to overload the rod.

Had to try.

Had a friend use them, his set up stayed while mine rolled with the current. Now I’m a believer.
