This is one of the first surf related books I have read and even though I have been fishing for a very long time, or you always learn something new. I really believe this book has made me a better surf caster.

I highly recommend this to anyone out there who is looking to increase the number of fish they catch. I would strongly suggest someone new to the game to read this book.

This is a great read for the movie or anyone interested in improving their game. The information is laid out very clearly and is very readable. Some books on fishing quickly devolve into a series of war stories for which you are supposed to pull out the important bits. Not this one. This book methodically lays out the information in a very persuasive way. It goes through the basics on tides, wind, and structure. It then goes in a detailed description of the major lure types, how and when to fish them. Overall, i thought this book was great. The one thing to remember is that the book is written from the perspective of a person who fishes on the eastern end of Long Island. As such, there is occasionally some points made which, I believe, really only applies from that perspective. However, there are only a few such points and I would not hesitate to purchase this book on that basis.
