Superfly Strung Schlappen are long heavily webbed hackles from the base of the rooster saddle. Schlappen is ideal for collars on salmon and steelhead flies. It can also be used for legs, tails, spey hackle, palmered hackle, beards, throats and wings. When wrapped as a collar, they flow back naturally over the fly. The softer Schlappen feather fibers move easily in the water.
