Great mono for the price

Great for the price. I don't fish near rocks so I can't speak to the abrasion resistance, but it is very supple and easy to tie knots with.

A Quality Line At An Economical Price
December 26, 2013
I bought the 17lb Hi-Viz line yellow line for my general purpose saltwater baitcasting setup. Very flexible line with what appears to be little memory that casts easily. I've not experienced any backlashes yet after 3 sessions of 50 practice casts each casting 4oz of lead from goal post to goal post on local high school football field.. Knots appear to cinch down tightly using a 40lb shock leader and hold very well using a Slim Beauty Knot.
Pros
  • Flexible with little line memory. Casts easily.
Cons
  • None that I've experienced.

Breaks easy.

I have used the 10lb hi-vis yellow. I have found in my use that it does not stand up to abrasion well at all. Breaks much easier than other brands at the same pound test and cost.

I've read good reviews of your line.   Our store only carries your Hi-Vis Yellow.   I am interested in giving it a try, but I'm afraid that it would be too easy for the fish to see under water.   Can you convince me otherwise?

The high vis yellow line is designed so the angler can see what the line is doing. Sometimes bites are so subtle it helps to have a highly visible line to detect the bite. If you're fishing ultra clear water for highly pressured fish I would recommend a clear line like Seagar AbrazX or any clear monofilament line. If you are fishing water with any type of stain to it, I doubt this or any line would truly deter a bite.
