Great line
October 13, 2021
Suffix braid seems to be better in abrasion resistance than other high end braids. Make sure that use use a correct braid knot ( as with all braids) to get the most out of the performance. Poor knots are generally the reason people dislike braided lines or have failures.
Pros
  • Good quality and darker color options seems to work best for my saltwater applications
Cons
  • A little pricey, but a fish of a lifetime is worth how much?

Best braid I’ve used
July 19, 2021
This is a superb braid. It’s round which holds knots better than other braids. It sinks, were other brands float and leave a disturbance on the water when working top water lures. Last longer than any other braid I’ve used.
Pros
  • Knot strength.
  • Round profile.
  • Sinks.
  • Last longer.

20 lb low vis green

My favorite braid. Has a nice balance of slickness, good enough for casting distant but not too much to cause casting and knot-slipping issues. This stuff is strong and has better abrasion resistance than other brands I've tried.
Pros
  • Strong

Great line
February 17, 2020
I have been using this brand of line now for a number of years. It has been one of my favorites. I have used both their 10lb and 20lb tests on a variety of different outfits. I wanted to try something a little lighter for the surf now that bluefish and keeper sized bass are anomalies. I'm thinking the thinner diameter may assist with some ore distance while not giving up too much in strength.
Pros
  • Very manageable.
  • Few windknots

Better than Power Pro
December 3, 2018
I like this line better than Power Pro due to less wind knots. It is a little slick so knots can slip if you don't tie them well.
Pros
  • Less wind knots
Cons
  • A little slick

little slippery for me
October 24, 2018
i found this a little too slippery. i prefer to avoid backing on my reels, and this does't hold as well as the Sufix Performance braid.

Great Braid

Use 30 lb test for surf fishing striped bass along rocky shorelines. Cast distance is great and seem to have good abrasion resistance as well. Line holds up very well and will continue to use.

Worst line I've used to date.
November 14, 2017
I've used pretty much every line out there, Power Pro, Spiderwire, Daiwa, Fireline, you name it, I've used it. Suffix 832 is by far the worst. I spooled up my Penn SSV6500BLS with 40lb 832 and got 10 wind knots in the first 2 trips I used it. I got wind knots using every lure in my bag. Sluggos, darters, needlefish, swimmers, and many others that I never have had problems with, using my other lines. I know a lot of people like it but from my experience, I can't understand why someone would put themselves through the trouble of using it. Not to mention the cost, not as much as some, but more than a few other lines I've had better luck with. Don't waste your money on the name, that's all I have to say.
Pros
  • Relatively smooth.
Cons
  • Everything.

How does Suffix 832 compare with PowerPro --- advantages & disadvantages?
1 Answers
Standard PowerPro spectra( which is great line) is made up of 4 strands. Sufix 832 is made up of 8 strands. PowerPro Super Slick is made up of 8 strands. The Sufix 832 is very smooth thanks to the fact that it is an 8 stranded braid much like the PowerPro super slick. The more strands used the more round the line becomes. Smoother and more rounded braided lines will cast further and go through the guides with less resistance. They will also give less scope when dropping down in the water column. Sufix uses "Gore Fiber" which in theory helps make their braid more durable and stand up better after contact with abrasive surfaces.
