Keeps the warmth in and the water out
December 13, 2020
I am very happy that I bought the Stormr Surf Top. I was hesitant because of the cost, but it really is a great product. I wear it over top of my waders and It really keeps the water out. The front pocket is handy and has a velcro closure. Handwarmer pockets behind that. It is bit tricky to take off, until you get used to it, with the neoprene cuffs at the wrists. Really great for surf fishing in the fall in NJ. I liked the quality enough to buy the Typhoon jacket also, for when I'm on the boat, or just in the cold rain.
Pros
  • Water tight, great for wearing over top of chest waders. Adjustments at hip and neck. Velcro strap on back of hood adjusts so the hood doesn't fall forward on your face.
Cons
  • A bit snug when trying to take it off at end of the day, but once you get used to it, it's no problem.

keeps you dry and warm but also allows a lot of movement. nice neoprene cuffs but eventually they will corrode away overtime if you're constantly out on the water

Great Surf Top
January 3, 2018
Warm, dry, great storage. The neoprene cuffs and neck are much nicer then latex. Sizing runs a little small, usually a large went with an XL and the fit is perfect. You could get a cheaper top but then you'd always regret it
Pros
  • Warm
  • Dry
  • Storage
Cons
  • Runs a little small

Many good features added to the top it is well built.
Pros
  • well built, large front pocket and you are also able to run your surf belt through the backside of the pocket much more comfortable.Good top worth the money.Best price I found was here at TD.No flashy colors when you are incognito mode..
Cons
  • Cuffs are a little tight but I'll give it some time to see if the loosen some naturally done for a reason keep water out.

unbelievable top! very well made

tremendous surf top. couldn't be happier. all of the features make it obvious the company has the true surf caster in mind. belt behind the front pocket, double cinching around the waist and hips. keeps you warm as ever! I want to wear this thing even when im not fishing its so awesome. great design.
Pros
  • neoprene neck gasket stays snug but does not choke. the hood naturally folds down and stays down laying flat on your back unless you need it up in bad weather. plenty of room in the front pocket.
  • I'm 225 lbs and have an athletic build. I purchased A size large because I prefer a more of a snug fit. I can fit a couple of under armour cold weather tops underneath and its great. fishing buddy of mine, maybe 200 lbs, chose an XL because he wanted to be able to fit a sweatshirt underneath.
  • plus it just plain looks cool and stealthy!
Cons
  • if you get dunked you may get a little water in the neck area. but its neoprene not the rubber gaskets on other brands. I knew that before purchasing so its not really a con for me. More so a preference but may be a con for some. just snug it up to your neck and enjoy.
  • the neoprene wrist gaskets partially ripped a little on both sides. but Im doing to attribute that to a slight defect. its warrantied so im not worried. no real cons in my opinion.

Best Waterproof Top yet

Bored.......so surfing youtube fishing videos and I see some guy wearing a "top" and he literally dives headfirst through a wave wearing this jacket. Anybody that surf fishes in deep water takes a wave to their gut and the water blasts up under you jacket blowing out your neck and soaking you good. This Jacket has the proper seals to keep that from happening, nice and snug around the waist, fully adjustable, tight gasket like seals around the wrist, so when you reach in the water to release that trophy fish, you're still nice and dry up your wrist. I use it for both kayak fishing/surf launches and surf fishing, perfect for cool or cold weather, a little warm for summers.
Pros
  • Waterproof
  • Wrist Gaskets
  • Neck Gaskets
  • Waist Gaskets
Cons
  • A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!!!!

awesome surf top
November 17, 2013
I bought this surf top to keep me dry and warm, fishing the south shore of long island. The top is true to fit. I am 5'6" and 155lbs, the medium fits me well, with enough room to layer. The material stretches so it does not restrict movement. It's pretty warm too, I would not recommend using it during warm days. Keeping water out is where this top shines. Fished it hard in big surf, got hit overhead with some waves, but I kept dry. The neck seal, when closed accordingly, keeps water out well. The inner wrist seals are tight, but not too tight that circulation is cut off, and there's an outer Velcroed cuff that can be tightened for added protection.
Pros
  • well made
  • keeps you dry
  • great look
  • large front pocket
Cons
  • front pocket closure flap may be too short and should have more Velcro.

I am 5'9" , 210 lbs , 48" chest , 40" waist. What size will work best?

The 2x would fit but may be a bit tight. The 3xl would be your best fitting size.

hi just a question regarding sizes , i am 5 foot 5inches with a size 28 waist and weigh 9 stone , would a size small be suitable for me or should i go for the medium to give room to wear clothes underneath?
1 Answers
A small would suffice but if you like to put sweatshirts or hoodies underneath the jacket then a medium would probably be best.
