High density graphite with a thick-walled, thin-diameter blank gives an even bend throughout the rod curve. This gives steady and even pressure against the fish. Like a modern hunting bow flexes as you pull back, power is generated evenly giving unrelenting lifting power. Fuji silicon nitride or alconite concept guides and Fuji or Stuart reel seats convey this awesome power from the reel. These rods are a perfect match for the powerful drags on the light weight powerful conventional and spinning reels now on the market. Unrelenting rods for unrelenting reels whether flat lining for yellowtail snapper, trolling for yellow fin tuna or casting to huge tarpon there is a Paraflex rod for you.

Paraflex LT Boat rods are lighter in weight and have a faster taper than the series original boat spinning rods. Models feature Fuji K-guides and comfortable EVA grips. Proven Paraflex power makes these rods a much desired addition to the series.

This rod is descent for what it is. I have it paired with a Saragosa 10000. It is well balanced and I get good casting distance with 1-3oz on the line. I tested the strength when I first got it by dead lifting my dog's crate that weighs in around 15lbs. I would be confident battling large fish without worry of snapping the blank. The reason for 3 stars is the guide sizing doesn't make sense to me. The first guide from the reel is a 40mm and the second is a 25mm then from there the transitions are good until you reach the tip. The size difference is only for "looks" and to keep the price in the $200 range. I would rather the 40 be a 30mm and replace the tip guide (with the extra money) to a more K style guide. The tip guide is my other complant. Star advertises the K series guides but the tip guide is lacking in the smooth K style. I'm pretty sure it's the Fuji all purpose guide and if the 40mm guide was replaced with the 30mm and the tip replaced with the more tangle-free Fuji MG or MN guide the cost would stay the same and look better.
Pros
  • Strong
  • Light weight
  • Balanced
  • Good craftmenship
Cons
  • Choice of guides could be better.
  • Advertised to have tangle-free guides but the tip guide isn't one. Should advertise 89% tangle-free guides! No shame in that!

Absolutely Great Rods!
February 2, 2021
I've been fishing inshore with Star Seagis rods for several years and a few months ago, purchased two Star Paraflex rods and recently two more! I purchased a Dusky 287, my first offshore boat and decided on the Paraflex rods because the Star Seagis rods have been so good. And I wasn't disappointed at all! Put some heavy pressure on those rods and the rods won every time vs the fish! Buy them, you won't be disappointed
Pros
  • Very well made and capable of taking tremendous pressure. I started off with two and now own six Star Paraflex rods for offshore fishing.
Cons
  • Star Paraflex rods Just like Star Seagis rods can be hard to find. And I work for Bass Pro Shop/Daytona Beach, Fl!
  • Other than that, absolutely no complaints. Great rods that can take a beating from a fish and still win the battle.
  • Oops I guess that really wasn't Cons lol!

Wicked Little Rod

I have about 20 different Boat Rods. I can tell you the Paraflex Rods holds up to any of them. The Rod is 1/2 the weight of the standard. Nice clean and consitant bend through out the rod top to bottom. Very nice to Cast with the Fuji eyes. The Black Rod with the Red & Gold is Sharp looking to top it off.
I have the 6'6" M & The 7'MH. Both are awesome! I paired the 6'6" LT Boat Rod with a Van Stall VR50 and it is a Sick little set up and that weights about as much as my Fly fishing trout Rod. Incredible! No Problem reeling in a 40" Striped Bass , need I say anymore.

Very nice rod with plenty of backbone, I paid it with a slammer 8500 for heavy jigs and some tuna. I haven't had a chance to test it on a really big fish yet but it can sling a heavy lure pretty far. All the backbone I could want being paired the way it is. Only wish it had an aluminum reel seat, I've found that big rod and reel combos can be hard on plastic reel seats.
Pros
  • Looks nice
  • Plenty of backbone
  • Light enough tip to feel strikes
Cons
  • Plastic reel seat
  • Wish the foam grip extended further

Great offshore spinning rods

Great combination of lightweight and strength for our offshore use. We use the MH with 30# braid for live baits and jigs on reefs or as pitch rod while trolling.

Good rod for the money

I bought this rod to match a 8000 Shimano Baitrunner. Matches the real great. Rod is light yet powerful. Only slightly negative comment I would give this rod is the length of the back handle. It seems a little long to me. Wish the handle was about 6" shorter.
