TRS70MLF2 is great rod for the price. Pairs nice with Shimano Sahara 1000. Bought 3 as gifts for teen/pre-teen grandkids. Perfect size for dock, kayak, or rowboat lake fishing.
Pros
  • Quality for price; light weight; great 'starter' rod that will last for years.

Cant go wrong

St. Croixs warranty should be enough to want this well crafted specimen. I thought the 2pc would restrict my action too heavily, but it proved to be much smoother than expected.
Pros
  • Warranty
  • Sensitivity

I paired this rod up with a Shimano Symetre reel and it balances really nice. It makes long cast with ease. It is very light and easy to handle .DEFINATELY worth the price and I am sure it will perform as well as the rest of my St. Croix rod
Pros
  • Strong - light - durable- long casting

Nice Rod
December 1, 2016
I got to try our my new St. Croix on Thanksgiving weekend this year before I put the boat up for the winter. The sensitivity and action were as good as it gets, I could feel every rock, stick, and yes strike like never before. This was my first " high end" rod in 40+ years of fishing and I was not disappointed. I paired this with a Lew's BB1 and it is a perfect match, well balanced, light, and casts like a dream. First trip out I fished a jig & craw and I was like wow!, pretty much the only thing I fished after that. That and it was a pretty good pattern that day.
Pros
  • Light, sensitive, beautiful action.

White bass bat
December 22, 2014
I've caught so many bass and white bass on this rod it's ridiculous. Very fun whippy sensitive little rod. The blank is perfect for 1-5lb fish but I've caught a few 10s by accident. Its a good one. Oh...btw...found the rod on the bottom of the lake 6 years ago, still running strong...score!
Pros
  • St Croix makes really nice stuff

January 1, 2014
This makes my 5th different St Croix rod added to the mix and satisfied with all of them. High quality materials, super sensitive feel, great power, and sharp designs ( although the fish don't see it … ). Would recommend the investment.
Pros
  • - Quality Materials
  • - Feel and power
  • - Durability
  • - Design
Cons
  • - Price ( although get what you pay for )
