The perfect Rod
January 17, 2021
I have 9 of the mojo cat rods. They are super sensitive and powerful with each model spot on to specifications. I have these in every weight range. I love them. I'm 60 and have owned and used every major manufacturer rods. These replaced my Lamiglas and others. I'm totally sold. Don't hesitate to purchase, you get more than your paying for !!!!
Pros
  • Light. Sensitive powerful with flawless actions.
Cons
  • Would prefer Fuji Alconite guides but so far zero issues so truly no negatives

After watching icast video's and some guys using this rod for cats the action seemed perfect for saltwater, and i was right!!! I use the MH 7" casting rod all the time for blackfish and love the action. I have had no issue with the salt and wash it down after every trip.

Sweet as they come

I'm 58 and catfish is all I fish for. I own so many rods it's not funny. I never thought any rod could take the place of my Ugly stick Tiger elites, The St Croix Mojo Cat has done just that.
I own 2 7' mediums one casting one spinning. I also own two 8'XH mojo cats. I reading love my Mojo's. They handle catfish like you always wished the perfect rod would feel like. I know I'm rambling but I just can't put into words how great these rods are !!
Pros
  • Super lite- soft but not to soft tip- excellent back bone-perfect feel with the cork. Cast a country mile-perfect actions !
Cons
  • Should have k-guides on spinning models and Fuji guides on all the rods especially for the price !!

Nice bait & wait rod
December 30, 2018
I have this rod paired with a Penn Spinfisher V 4500LL. It makes for a great bait & wait rod that does not break the bank. I use it mainly for carp fishing and have also used it for live bait fishing for light saltwater inshore use. Great rod by St Croix!

Go to freshwater Bait rod
August 31, 2016
This rod breaks down well and rides in a 2" PVC pipe in cab of pickup. Paired with a Garcia 6500c3 Catfish special its a very sweet rig, balances well and crankls in channel cats so far. I am also using it for a crappie rig tool, it has nice extension at 8' to allow it to easily swing a crappie rig out away from dock or casts as far as i would desire without mangling live bait. Very Happy with it, the glass is really nice and cork handle comfortable. The guides are very well done as well.
Pros
  • Price is very right for the amount of features and quality construction. Shipping is fast. Rod is easy to transport and does not feel like a 2 pc rod when deployed. I really like the guides on this rod.
Cons
  • None.

Great rod for bass fishing!
March 1, 2016
I was lucky enough to get the MCC70MF while it was still available as they trickle. I have been tracking this rod from St. Croix since last year, waiting for its release. Even though this rod is primarily for catfish fishing, my reason for purchasing is specifically for bass fishing. St. Croix discontinued their hybrid rod made of graphite and fiberglass. This rod is the exact same thing, but with a different name. It is my #1 crankbait rod.
Pros
  • Everything!
Cons
  • Nothing

Do you know of anyone using these rods for saltwater applications, was thinking of buying the MCC76HF for my upcoming Nantucket fluke trip.  In your opinion would this work?

Hello Craig, Yes there are people using these in saltwater for the same application as well Tog fishing. It will work good for what you are trying to use it for.

Not to many people using this rod for fluke fishing however by looking at the specs on the rod depending on if you are looking for a spinning rod or conventional the 7 foot rod medium power will work for you.
