Super sensitive, fast tip but plenty of backbone further down the spine. Have three of these now in various lengths and action.

Good quality

I took a while to decide on a jerkbait rod. I’m happy with this rod for the price. Balanced very well and has a very good action for jerkbaits. Only used it a couple time so far this spring but for as many times as I’ve thrown in so far I’ve had about a 50% ratio of catching a fish per casts. I’ve used shallow suspending jerbaits with it so far I’m very pleased with the rod. The warranty is nice too knowing if it fails or something it will be replaced for a whole 5 years. It’s not the St. Croix lifetime but for the price and quality of the rod I think it’s definitely a good buy. Only con I may see with it or what May make it better maybe would be if the handle were a little shorter. It’s nice to have the leverage when casting but when using it to twitch the lure a little shorter may be better. I’m not sure how it compares to other “jerkbait” rods. This is the first technique specific rod I’ve purchased. It’s definitely a nice looking and nice feeling rod with good sensitivity and action.
Pros
  • action
  • appearance
  • weight
  • balance
  • warranty
  • nice for the money
Cons
  • maybe the length of handle. May be perfect for Some

This by far is my favorite rod I own. I picked up the 6'10" MLXF for finesse fishing and I cant praise it enough. I have it paired with a Diawa Procyon AL 2500 and loaded with 8lb floro. Perfect setup. Heck i'm getting excited just typing about it.
Pros
  • *LIGHTWEIGHT
  • *SOLID BACKBONE
  • *BEAUTIFUL COLOR
Cons
  • *ZERO

I use these rods for reds and trout, with a Chronarch G it’s an awesome combination. Lightweight but plenty of power, perfect for wading.

Solid rod but seemingly fragile construction
February 1, 2021
Purchased this rod in late December 2020. Overall rod appears to be of nice construction, very sensitive and check all of the boxes for things I needed. However the end guide chipped/broke within a month of owning it and limited use and was cutting my fluorocarbon line. Disappointed how quickly it failed.

I got the 7’1 medium moderate cranking rod. Lightweight and comfortable in the hand. It has a perfect parabolic bend to keep the fish pinned. Got it paired with a Shimano SLX XT 6:3. Awesome set up in my opinion.

Great bang for the buck rod!

I have the 7'1 M fast. This rod is just amazing on the new scIII blanks. It blows away the older models on the scII blanks. I use this rod mostly for ned rigs, and lighter plastics. It performs better than any other rod I have for this task. Also capable of fishing a variety of different baits with ease. Super light, tons of backbone if you get into some mondos and feels great in your hand for long comfortable days on the water. If you're considering rods in the $100-$150 price range, this is the one to go with hands down. I own multiple other brands and my st.croix beats all of them in this dollar range.
Pros
  • Crazy light, super sensitive, comfortable, balanced, well made.
Cons
  • Would love to see this rod with a micro guide option, other than that it's pretty amazing.
