Perfect kayak rod
March 25, 2020
I have this rod matched up with my pimped-out Stradic 4000, and finally got a paddle last weekend. The rod is lighter in hand than you expect for S-glass. The LGS72 has the perfect MM action for inshore kayak fishing, giving good finesse to your lure action. It will cast 1/4 oz lure out of sight, and will fish lighter lures than the rating. It has the backbone to horse a slot redfish at the boat. Quality components, good workmanship and, as I remember about my purchase, quick drop-ship from St. Croix.
Pros
  • Light in hand, perfect MM action, quality components and good workmanship.

Excellent crank bait stick

Very soft tip keeps fish buttoned. Casts smaller crank baits effortlessly.

Legend Glass, it is a LEGEND!
July 5, 2019
Got the 6'10" setup with VR50 for both salt water and fresh water fishing. The moderate bend helps with casting further. Sensitivity on this rod is amazing and I can move the bait according to the bed (rather it be rock, mud or dragging grass), you feel it all. This is my first St Croix but not my last, got the Avid rod and planning on getting the Legend Glass casting rod too.
Pros
  • Casting and feel of the bite and action of the bait.
