The new Legend Xtreme Series provides 3 different spinning models for a wide range of technique-specific applications. Anglers will find specially designed spinning models optimized for jerkbaits, finesse fishing, general plastics use and more. St. Croix Legend Xtreme rods take sensitivity to insane levels with the all-new, exotic Daiwa AGS carbon fiber guide train. These pure carbon fiber guide frames increase energy transmission, resulting in a more sensitive and responsive rod. These guides can also take a beating and resist bending and breaking. The pairing of the new Legend Xtreme blanks with the Daiwa AGS carbon fiber guides is a rod that goes far beyond what anglers previously considered sensitive. The process of making a rod this sensitive shouldn’t ignore the critical connection point between rod and angler. That’s why St. Croix developed an all-new handle worthy and up to the rest of the astounding, standards of the new Legend Xtreme. The Gen2 Xtreme-Skin handle performs beyond expectations in all conditions both wet and dry and transmits feedback from the rod with precision and speed.

Great For Trout
October 24, 2014
These are my go to rods for trout fishing. Some of the rivers I fish have lots of thick cover and rocks and this rod stands up to the fight to pull large trout from under those rocks. Never had any issues with these rods. They are strong and have great sensitive to feel every hit.

I mostly fish for Walleye. I use 1/8 th 1/4 to 3/8 jigs. What power and action Legend would best handle these size jigs?
2 Answers
We suggest going with either the SCR-1298 or SCR-1299. Both are 7' ML power, fast action rods. The difference is that one is a 1 piece and the other is a 2 piece.

Hello Steve! In this particular rod type, a medium action would be best for you in your situation. If you have any more questions please feel free to contact us!
