Hand down the best rods I have ever fished

So as of yesterday I have completed my collection I now own the 7’6” ML, 7’6” M, 7’6” MH and the 8’ H in these rods all paired with Van Staal VR series reels 2 VR50 a VR75 and a VR125 and they will handle anything the Florida gulf coast can throw at them bull reds to giant AJ, tarpon and cobia, speckled trout and grouper. All I can say is, if the Tugg is your drug these are a must have. Oh and did I mention I own the 8’H and 7’6” MH casting models paired with Avet SXJ two speed reels and my go to shark rod is the 8’6XH Musky tournament paired with the Avet LX raptor. Model.

By far the best inshore rod I've used. As always St Croix does not disappoint. I have the 7' medium fast. The rod is extremely light and has great backbone. Great for pitching a jig off a dock.

I simply love this rod, the feel, the action and the company behind it. I have 2 of the legend tournament and have been using them a lot lately. I though about getting some custom rods made, and still may one day. However I just don't see the point right now as these work great, and custom built rods will likely cost an extra 100 at least.

Hi, I am looking to find a saltwater rod either avid inshore or legend tournament that closely matches the action of the premier medium fast (6-12, 1/4-5/8oz). Ive read somewhere that the saltwater rods possibly are a bit stiffer than the freshwater rods and wondering if the Medium Light Fast 6-12 or the Medium 8-17 has similar power/action. Thank you!

Hello. Looking for a 7ft medium/light action spinning rod for inshore fishing. Hoe does the Legend Tournament Inshore differ from the Legend Elite rods? Is it just the corrosion resistant guides or are there other differences? Thanks so much.

Both rods have corrosion resistant guides. The Legend Tournament has Kigan Master hand zero tangle guides with strong aluminum oxide rings and titanium frames. The Legend Elite has Fuji Torzite tangle free guides with titanium frames which have 100% corrosion proof performance. Both rods have the IPC, ART and FRS technology but the Legend Elite also has TET whereas the Legend Tournament does not. TET is Taper Enhancement Technology which is precision cut, curved blank patterns that give better action and improved sensitivity. The Legend Tournament has Back Stop lock nut features on the reel seat, the Legend Elite does not have Back Stop. The Elite can also be considered a freshwater rod and the Tournament considered salt.Â

The 7' and 7'6 Medium-Heavy rods both are great choices for your application. The two rods do have different handles, the 7' MH has a smaller handle length than the 7' 6 MH. The rods do have the same power and action, the tip of the rods are the same.

Given the specs on this particular rod I'd say it would ideal for drop shot and lighter baits. Generally when rods are considered inshore rods it means that the components will resist corrosion and would function just as well for freshwater applications.
