Well made rod sack...
April 14, 2022
It's a well made rod sack that can protect the rod from scratches. Has two compartments of different widths to accommodate the two pieces. I personally feel it should have been provided with the rod.

Nice sack
April 6, 2022
Perfect of my intended use. Not easy finding a sack that fits a 2 piece 13ft center pin float rod. Just wish it had 2 compartments as advertised but my wife and her sewing machine could fix that if I choose.
Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Didn?t come with 2 separate compartments as advertised.

Great protection inside a tube

It's amazing how hard these types of bags are to find, but if putting more than one rod in a tube, they're a must. I have them for all my St. Croix two-piece rods

The St. Croix Cloth Rod Sack appears to be well made. My 48" sack arrived quickly, and in good shape. It is approximately 6-1/4" wide, laying flat, with 2 pockets, a large pocket 3-3/4" wide, and a smaller one 2-1/2" wide. It's advertised to fit 2 piece rods up to 7'6" and it fit my Fenwick HMG 7ft Inshore Spin Rod just fine. I recommend it for others, and will likely be buying more of them for myself. I ordered sacks a little longer than was listed for my rod length to leave some extra room to fold the top down. This also leaves room to use them for slightly longer rods. They should fit most spin rods but maybe not longer spin rods with a very large first line guide.

Heavy duty, smooth materials to protect your investment. Order a few inches longer than your actual measurement of the longest section of the rod.

ADD AT LEAST 5" !
April 28, 2021
Add at least 5 ", otherwise the rod ends are so close to the edge that it is very difficult to tie.

Can you please provide the inside dimensions of this bag and can you confirm that the 74" has 2 separate channels? I hoping it will fit an 11' Okuma CSX. The guides are similar to the Mojo and it's a 50/50 split.
1 Answer
They are currently on backorder and we are unable to get a measurement on the interior diameter until they come back into stock

What size rod cover, if any, would fit a VSS100MF2 Avid Surf rod - 10 ft.
1 Answer
Hi Ken, According to St. Croix, The rod guides would be too large for the St. Croix Cloth Rod Sacks. They are also made for 50/50 split rods so those designed for longer rods wouldn’t actually be long enough for the top section. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

I have a custom built center pin spinning float rod.

Its 13ft long 2 piece with a 50/50 split. What size

Would fit this rod best with a inch or 2 leeway to

Fold over the end to tie it off.

1 Answer
Hi Louie, Depending on the size of the guides, I would recommend Model: RS80. https://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-cloth-rod-sack-80in.html This would be the closest size to fit the rod you have as long as the guides are fairly small to accomodate the rod. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Is the 42 inch the right size for a 7 ft rod or is the 45 inch?
1 Answer
Michael,

For a 7' 1-piece rod the 86" St.Croix rod sack would be the right fit.  For a 7' 2-piece rod the 45" St.Croix rod sack would be the right fit, as long as the rod is a 50/50 split.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Can I fit my 10’ 6” legend surf rod in this? I need to be able to protect the guides and blank and it’s a 70/30 split. It has the new Fuji k frame guides, so it’s a pretty dang big guide. Do you have any dimensions or the ability to see if a st. Croix with the 2020 guides will fit? It will be transported in a truck bed, but safely secured so that it cannot be seen, stolen, or damaged. Thanks in advance!
1 Answer
Your rod should fit in the largest bag size when it is in 2 pieces.

January 30, 2021
following questions pertain to the 36, 39, 42, and 45 inch St. Croix rod sacks.  Are the rod sacks meant to accommodate 2pc freshwater and inshore spinning rods?  How do you seal the end so it stays closed?  Are the sacks longer in length than stated so they can be folded over and sealed?  In other words do you need to purchase next size longer rod sack?
1 Answer
These rod sacks are designed for both fresh and saltwater rods. The two straps at the end are meant to be tied up to secure the rods in the sack. The measurement for each sack is measured to fit the actual length of the longest rod piece, so there is no need to buy a size larger.

Hello,

I am looking that for my 11' Legend Surf new model. Is that fit?

1 Answer
Your 11' 2pc St. Croix Legend is a 70/30 split so the tip section is significantly longer, this rod should fit in the RS92 size rod sack,
