Great for steelheading
November 11, 2014
This is my first real float rod, and I love it. I matched it with an Islander Steelheader and have caught lots of steelhead and salmon on it, fishing on the Great Lakes. This rod is fairly light but has backbone when you need to put the brakes on a chrome fish.
Pros
  • Very durable.
  • Has backbone if you need it, but it is not meant to be very stiff. Good for fishing lighter lines.
Cons
  • Took a little while to get used to the sliding rings. Electrical tape made sure that they don't slide.

Its a MONSTER !

Well, i received My rod and the first thing i noticed was that the sliding rings loosened aftr wrking with the thing afew casts which means its no different than any other rod of this sort and requires sm kind of tape to make the fit tighter..i like to fish lighter floats and came to find out after a few cast that this wasnt going to be possible if i wanted to throw any distance at all./.this rod is a wonderful choice if ur going to fish any kind of BIG water...for BIG FISH...Guess i got too excited..with the length came girth and forward weight..now i know why everyone else is using 13ft-ers...
Pros
  • BUILT NICELY / GOOD QUALITY
Cons
  • FORWARD HEAVY, YET LIGHT FOR ITS SIZE..NEED A HEAVIER REEL FOR THIS ONE..
