Sensitive and Strong!
July 5, 2019
I got the AVC60MF. This rod is setup with medium and fast action but it feels a bit stronger in flex. I tried to cast as hard as I can and this rod bends little. When I catch a LMB the bend is where it start to show up, gives a good hook set because of this. I really like this rod for both control and strength. I can feel the bedding of different lake and ponds very well with this rod, I use it with a ned rig and have not skunk once since!
Pros
  • Strength and stiffness, but bends when needed for a better hook set.
Cons
  • The handle seem to be a bit harder for me to control as I have short arms!

Great Smallmouth Rod
August 22, 2013
This was my first St Croix rod purchase. I love using it for river Smallmouth Bass, good with Tubes, Jigs, and Spinnerbaits. I have no criticism's, only good things to say. I never really "felt" the bottom before I had this rod. Set the hook on a lot of rocks my first day out with it. Love It!
Pros
  • Lightweight and sensitive.
Cons
  • None
