Fishing is the most important thing. Whatever gets you fishing more is good. Even if she has never once had a nice thing to say about you. Or your collection of Avid Series spinning rods. Perhaps she doesnt know they are built from high-modulus SC III graphite blanks and trimmed out with Fujis Alconite Concept Guide System. She could be completely unaware they deliver a combination of strength, durability and a light, sensitive feel that makes their price downright impressive. If she knew all that, she would probably change her mind completely about your worth.

Outstanding Feel
May 15, 2018
I’m used to throwing my crankbaits on glass and composite rods. Once I got this rod, my catches increased greatly. On a stop and go retrieve, the fish usually hit on the pause. You can feel every hit with this rod that you would not feel with other rods. Ordering another one soon.
Pros
  • Outstanding feel on a perfect moderate action.

St. Croix AVC70MHM Avid Crankbait Rod

Wow. Outstanding rod for shallow and deep crankbaits. I use it for 1/4 - 3/4 oz. cranks. Norman Little N, Deep Little N, Rapala DT-6 thru DT-10.
You can cast them out of site with this rod. Handles fluorocarbon and braid better than any crank bait rod I've owned. Will be ordering the HM model next for DD-22
deep divers up to an 1-1/4 ozs. As with all St. Croix rods, the build quality is exceptional. Quality from end to end.
Pros

  • Build quality

Great action!
August 22, 2013
I've had this rod for about 10 years. Some prefer fiberglass for crank-baits, but I love how light this rod is being 100% graphite. I always have it at the ready when using crank-baits of almost any size. Just tried it with my new Storm cranks, purchased from Tackle Direct. I couldn't be happier. The rod and new lures are perfect together. The softer or moderate action helps me not set the hooks too quickly. I believe using this rod has help me hook-up more with crank-baits than when I use a fast action rod.
