Plan to use for Offshore
August 25, 2022
I picked these up to use offshore, weight to the bottom and bait floating out to the side. Haven't had a chance to use them yet but they should hold up well

Couldn't really tell online how big these are. The 330 lb swivels are a bit big. I'll use the 230 lb version mostly, but I'm sure I'll find a use for these big suckers.
Pros
  • Quality
Cons
  • Bigger than I needed.

Great quality! I believe these are much stronger than 3-way swivels, and the rigs do not tangle as much on the drop.

Hello TD,

Just one ? about these 3-Way Barrel Power Swivels I would like to ask you or anybody else who is currently using or used these before could possibly answer the question for

Ok there is one (Larger) Eye on Bottom Barrel in the (Shown in the photo image here) of these so I'am assuming this would be where you would attach your Fluoro, Mono, leader to your (Hook, Bucktail, Etc) and the Smaller Barrel end would go UP to your direct (Main Line Braid, Reel, Etc) is this correct or would it be the reverse way? As I know the idea of these is to have the other side of the Barrel out with a 90 angle to avoid Twisting, Tangles, Etc but again, I was just wondering what the larger ring is for and should that be on the bottom or the top of the T? for the best action with these?

Thank you,

JD

How long is the #5 - 80# swivel?

Are these too big for pier fishing?

Will these work on a hi - lo rig or should I just tie loops in the leader for hooks?

1 Answer
Hi Joe, According to Spro, The Spro SPSCB-05-6 Power Swivel Combo Black 80lb measures at 0.60" inches. These would be fine for pier fishing applications. I recommend tying loops to attach your hooks for a Hi-Lo rig. However, you can make a single hook Hi-Lo rig using this swivel. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Do you attach the weight straight down or to the side line swivel?

Basically can that sideline swivel handle the weight of a fish?

1 Answer
Yes, the sideline swivel can handle the weight a fish.
