The SPRO BBZ-1 Rat Swim Bait won Best of ICAST at ICAST 2014. This bait is designed to provoke topwater strikes from larger predator fish in both fresh and saltwater, from largemouth bass to striped bass and more. It entices surface strikes by triggering an instinctive reaction that the larger fish are looking for. This lure is not your standard, run of the mill topwater lure, as it can be used with several different techniques such as v-wake, walk the dog, or even popping. It is equipped with super sharp Gamakatsu hooks that ensure solid hooksets. If you are familiar with throwing spook type topwater lures, the BBZ-1 will prove to be a deadly addition to the tacklebox.

This is a well built lure. I only gave it 4 stars because it doesn't work well as a wake bait unless I reel it much slower than I can stand; it tends to want to dive completely under with a steady retrieve. However, I can walk the dog with it, and that technique keeps it on the top.

I saw this lure at the Spro booth at a sports show and thought that it was a "gimmick". I was totally wrong, it catches LOTS of fish! Countless hours were put into designing this topwater bait. Not sure if it truly imitates a rat, but the action is insane! Big bass will hit this lure like nothing I have ever seen!

The service from Tackle Direct was great I got four BBZ-1 Rat's and they are great both Bass and Pikes are tearing them up. Great lure would advise that anyone wanting to catch more fish get some.

1st cast at a pond caught a bass. So far I like it and it looks real on the water. Quality hooks and holds up after catching several bass.

It took a few cast to get us to the new Rat lure, then reeling and working it was pretty simple. My wife got it for me,for my birthday .
Pros
- UIt's different lure, something that a bass never seen, where I fish at. And it works.
Cons
- It's alittle Big, I am not use to using this size lure.
