this doesnt do anything that a swimshad or a savage jig doesnt do, and it doesnt do either very well. on top of being so expensive

Very good bait for working mullet schools, I replaced stock hook with Circle hook and doubled my success rate.

It definitely catches fish, but plastic tail tears off really easy .

The Spool Tek Fatty work very well in tropical waters near mangrove areas whit light wind.
In this particular scenario the predators of the shallow water come tu hunt small fish.
The vibration of the Spool Tek attract the predators lique Mangrove Snapers, Jack's and Pargos.

This is a great early season striper lure in the Northeast. I love the size of this lure it does a great job of imitating large bunker and mackerel. Great action, but paint doesn't last long and need replacement tails.

Poor quality. I’ve done really well with these lures and it’s a great design but they don’t last very long. Every One I have the hook doesn’t seat down in the lure after a few catches. You would think that for $20 they would make them better quality. This lure requires more maintenance than my reel after fishing in saltwater

Appears to be a great lure. However, trying to get the hook to re-seat is difficult. Hat to use a needle nose plier to turn the wheel to re-seat it all the way.

Quality built and the weight forward design after strike prevents hook throws.

This is a great idea on an old lure. I use jigheads or bucktails with soft shad swim bait. I've had many tails bitten off or lost the entire lure due to a bluefish swallowing the bait and biting the mono or fluoro leader. In theory this lure fixes that problem. They aren't cheap but they are well built and the back half deploys out with a steel line to keep the fish from biting anything off and the front half is hard plastic. They swim well and have nice action. We've used them several times but have not caught anything yet. I'll continue to use at least one of these every time we troll.

Got a larger one of these when I signed up for the Striper Cup a few weeks ago. I really thought the lure was promising, so I went and purchased 3 different ones in a small size for when the schoolies (Stripers) arrived. These lures cast extremely well. They swim well. And the hookup on these is just like the video. I switched from my white fatty 4" to the Mackerel fatty 4" and my reels went screaming.
However, after a few catches, the hook will not sit back into place which caused it not to swim the same way. And the paint is already chipping off.

I don't know about you, but a $15+ lure should be able to survive more than 3 hours of catch and release off the beach in Cape Cod, MA. I will give my review on the others as soon as I get a hookup with them to give them a fair shake.
