Spiderwire Ultracast Ultimate Braid is the BEST braided fishing line ever made PERIOD! Ultracast outcasts, and outlasts all the competitors. Unlike the other braids, Ultracast requires no break-in period. It is limp and ready-to-fish right out of the box. It's stronger, smoother, and much more durable, while still amazingly thin and sensitive. With Spiderwire, Nothing Get's Away!

OK line

This braid cast nice and seems to be strong when new, I found if not replaced each season it tends to break easy after wear. Not as durable as some other braids out there.

Good and bad

It's strong and casts far but I had some mysterious break-offs with it. It does fray pretty easily but other than that, it's an OK line.

Best braid on the market
March 11, 2015
Fiahed with ultracast ultimate braid for aprox. 10 yrs. I purchased a 3,000 yd spool 15 lb test and fished on the flats for red fish, snook and trout. Line shows no change in color or strenth. No tangles even fishing with out a swivel. Moved down to 10lb test to try and improve my casting distance, have not used 10lb to date.
Cons
  • none

Not Durable

I bought this line and all was going well for a month and then it would snap easy. Lost multiple fish due to weak spots in the line. Probably not gonna buy this brand again.

One tough line.
October 23, 2013
This braid is tough. Casts great and flows through the rod eyes with ease. Great for fishing structure. Allows angler to feel even the slightest bite. I have used it as a top shot with mono backing to make using it more affordable that sporting a reel slab full of braid.
Pros
  • Sensitivity.
  • strength.
  • Cast ability.
Cons
  • Cost could be cheaper.
