For me...I just purchased my second pair of SoftScience Wading Boots in a month....!!!!! ... And For Mama I bought the another pair.... a 'Girley' pair ...that she'll get in April for her birthday. The boot is the lightest, best traction, super water drained foot ware I EVER purchased and own!! Semper Fi! Godspeed!
Pros

Great wading boot for small stream fishing.
Dries fast and super light weight.
Decent ankle support considering how light weight.
Wear with Patagonia tall aqua socks for "wet suit" effect.

...The Best Wading Boot I Ever Owned'
April 26, 2018
...Hi There!!! So far I purchased 3 pair and just bought another pair for my Grandson who is 13 years young............. I never thought I would trust a boot without spikes on the slippery rock bottom of the fresh water Susquehana river. They are super light weight and drain very-very well. I really like the product. Semper Fi! Godspeed! <')\\\\\\\>
Pros
  • .... drain well... light weight!!!
Cons
  • ... do not wear around the house or in the yard or to bed!!!.... :)

...Unreal boot.... UNREAL!!!
December 20, 2017
...When I received the boots last month.... the wife said they were 'Junk' because they were so light weight.... I was kinda concerned as well. WELLL...?.... I wore them with my 3.5 mm's launching my River Boat ... the river bottom was covered with 'GreenSnot' ...... really 'SlipperyGreenSnot' when wearing my 'Felts'.... I must say they are the best and lightest weight and well water drained boot I ever wore. I have 'FeltBottoms' that are NO WAY-No How' as track stable as these. We're fishing Walleye in 20 to 30 degree weather....River temps at high 40' to low 50's.... I really can't say enought about them. Next test will be the Saltwater Jetty Rocks.... I usually wear spikes walking and trying not to get 'Dumped' on the Jetty Rocks........ ....my point is...?.... they drain very well and track well compared to felts and no where near as heavy as 'Spikes' !! Semper Fi! Godspeed!! Thanks for an excellent product!! I'm really happy with them!! <')\\\\\\\\\\><
Pros
  • ...Light weight.... water drains REAL WELL!! No freezing feet!!
Cons
  • ...NONE....

And now for the most important question of all that 98% of all of these types of shoes/boots fail to do, do these shoes allow sand to flow through them ?  Many have fabric that breath thus allowing sand to fill the bottom of the boots .
1 Answer
Some sand intrusion will always happen with these types of boots. The three slots on the sole of the boot will help some with draining.
