Cold as hell

This mitts are not supposed to be toasty hot by design, but they could think of at least some insulation. Whatever they put inside has NO insulating property at all. It blocks the wind ok, but if the wind is somewhat chili (30 F) - fingers turn numb in 30 minutes.

I really appreciate my Simms Foldover Mitt

I ordered the Simms PG-10703 Foldover Mitt on the advice of a relative who fishes regularly. I fish only occasionally, but on this occasion we sere anticipating fairly cold weather, and we were correct. We had rain, wind gusts up to 20 mph, and temperatures in the 20s/30s. The mitts were essential for the boat travels, trolling and casting. They were a bit cumbersome and were removed for baiting and handling caught fish. Overall very pleased.

  • Warm, versatile, easy to use and remove if needed.
Cons
  • Somewhat difficult for baiting hooks and and removing caught fish.

I used them while 3-4 inches of snow was coming down. These are great gloves, they kept my hand warm the entire day. The build in slot for hand warmers work perfect.

Gloves perform well in freezing cold weather. Mittens are warm and snap easily out of the way to use fingertips when necessary.

  • Medium fit a little tight, might have gone with a large instead.
