The Shimano Twin Power FD is one AWESOME reel. The gear train of the FD is flawless. Smooth, quiet, and spot on tolerances. The FD features and all metal rotor (like the Stella) for rigid power. Line management is SUPER (All Shimanos are known for this). Casting is as good as it gets.The Drag is out of this world. I own (2) Twin Power FD, (2) 2021 Twin Power XD, 2021 Exsence C3000M and a 2019 Stella FJ. I love them ALL!! They are all SUPER reels but the 2020 Twin Power FD is the closest to the Stella. You can not go wrong!!!! FYI the FD is also the least expensive of the bunch.

From the second you pop open the box you are amazed at the stunning good looks of the reel. Swirl on the handle and the true amazement happens. That first turn of the handle on the TP5000FD is the real deal and sends chills up your spine. This thing is effortless, buttery, and no detectable wobble or slight anything is out of place. Maybe I have used cheap reels my entire life and this is the way that expensive ones are, so if you can take a little bit of a splurge than this is really (hah) worth it.

I love the Twin power its buttery Smooth and strong as a ox. I call it the mini stella... 5000 model is very versatile.

Bought the 5000 FD a few months ago while on a trip in Florida. Spooled up with 20lb Sufix 832 and paired to a Teramar 7'6" extra fast rod. Balance is perfect for this rod. Caught several gag groupers and got into a mess of snook in the twenty to thirty inch range. The reel is as smooth as my Stella's, drag is strong and precise. This reel sits between the new Stradic FL and closer to the fit and smoothness of the Stella. The reel is tight and smooth and physical appearance IMO is nicer than a Stella. It is twice the price of the Stradic, but if you can swing the funds it is well worth the price. Highly recommend this reel. Will be getting the 3K and 4K when available. Also did some testing with this on the new Grappler 7' lite and it fits and balances perfectly for an awesome setup and performance.
