is TLC59XXHRS for a 50 or 80 weight reel
1 Answer
Tim,

The Shimano Tallus Slick Butt TLC59XXHRS is a 50 class rod.  You could also go with a 30w class reel, but not an 80 class.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

I purchased Shimano BM 9000 electric reel, I'm looking for a 7' rod or best suggestion for this reel. Fishing the Gulf tuna, red snapper. Using 80 lbs mono

I would recommend using a rod that is shorter. The Shimano TLC59XXHRS Tallus Slick Butt Roller Stripper Tip Rod or a bent butt rod, the Daiwa SA-B 66MHF-DD Saltiga Dendoh Style Deep Drop Boat Rod.

looking for recommendations on tuna rods for set of 70 and 80 internationals i bought i like shimano but am open to other ideas running 80-100 lb test.....

I would take a look at the Shimano Trevala F Butterfly Jigging Conventional Rods ( http://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-trevala-f-butterfly-jigging-conventional-rods.html ), either the heavy or the extra extra heavy. Or the Shimano Tallus Stand-Up Straight Butt Rods ( http://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tallus-stand-up-straight-butt-rods.html ). Any rating due to your preference.
