Built on Shimano's most advanced blanks to date, the Terez BW rods benefit from three proprietary Shimano blank technologies — Hi-Power X, Spiral X, and UD Glass construction. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers of carbon tape that tightly wind the blank diagonally in opposite directions, resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. UD Glass greatly enhances rod strength while retaining the ability to flex. This combination of rod technologies increases the structural rigidity of the rods so that they remain true under load while enabling anglers to efficiently transfer power through the blank for much needed fighting power in heavy offshore applications. I currently own a Shimano Terez Conventional Rod - TZC70MH. What are the regular Terez and BW series differences for the same conventional rods? And what type of reels go together with the BW slick butt conventional MH/fast action rods?

Hi Norman, The Shimano TZC70MH Terez Conventional Rod is made using Shimano's Aluminum Reel seats, Fuji BKW Alconite frame guides and features Shimano's Spiral-X and Hi-Power X construction in the rod blank. The Shimano TZBWC70MHSBA has Fuji SiC guides, Fuji DPS-H reel seats, and features Hi-Power X, Spiral X, and UD Glass construction in the rod blank. Lastly, the Terez BW features a slick butt handle configuration allowing for easy insertion and removal from rod holders on the boat, whereas the Shimano TZC70MH Terez features a durable EVA foam handle.
