Built for the West Coast angler in need of uncompromising power and performance, the Shimano Teramar XX West Coast Casting Rods utilize the industry's most advanced rod manufacturing processes. With powers, actions, and features to enhance both casting distance and lifting power, this series of rods has what it takes to stand up to the hardest fighting game fish in the Pacific. The Teramar XX WC Rods are built on blanks featuring Shimano's highly touted Spiral-X and Hi-Power X construction. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions, resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This construction results in an extremely responsive rod that allows for instant power transmission and greatly enhances fish fighting capabilities. Spiral X blanks are 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. Featuring nothing but the best components, the blanks are equipped with Fuji FazLite Guides and Diamond Wrap handles that offer comfortable and secure grip. The Teramar XX WC rods are available in deckhand configuration as well as standard configuration models with Fuji Reel Seats to meet angler preferences. Built to be the ultimate West Coast rod for heavy jigs or bait, the Teramar XX WC is ready for long casts and grueling fights.

Would an avet mxl pair well with the 10 foot heavy action rod?
1 Answer
Hi Andrew, A avet MXL would pair great with a Shimano 10ft TXWC100XH2 rod. However, Since its currently sold out I would also recommmend the Shimano TXWC90H2 Teramar XX West Coast Casting Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-txwc90h2-teramar-xx-west-coast-casting-rod.html This would also pair nicely with your Avet MXL for a variety of saltwater fishing applications. Jeremy
from Southern California asked:
November 29, 2021
Why aren't there lure and standard line range ratings for this? I'm looking at the 9' MH 2pc rod. Is this the 'equivalent' of other rods rated 15-40 or 20-40 which would have something like a 1-6oz lure rating? Would this pair up well with a Saltist 15, 20 or 35?
1 Answer
Hi Jeremy, Unfortunately Shimano does not list any lure ratings on there rods. The Shimano TXWC90MH2 Teramar XX West Coast Casting Rod would pair best with a Daiwa Saltist 15 size. This will allow you to keep the wait of the setup light and be more versatile for thowing lures. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

What's the lure rating on the 8 foot medium
1 Answer
Shimano doesn't list a lure rating for this rod nor is it listed on the blank itself but is designed to throw heavy jigs and baits with west coast species in mind.
