Built with some of the industry's most advanced rod blank manufacturing technology, the Shimano Teramar XX Northeast Spinning Rods set a new standard for inshore rod performance. With powers, actions, and features geared towards common Northeastern techniques for targeting fish like fluke, striped bass, and tautog, this series has all your bases covered. The Teramar XX NE Rods are built on blanks featuring Shimano's highly touted Spiral-X and Hi-Power X construction. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions, resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This construction results in an extremely responsive rod that allows for instant power transmission and greatly enhances fish fighting capabilities. Spiral X blanks are 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. These state-of-the-art blanks are fitted with premium quality components, including Fuji FazLite Guides and AA cork full grip handles. From the handle shape to the guide train, Shimano’s Product Team worked closely with Shimano Pro Anglers to fine-tune and tailor every aspect to make the Teramar XX NE the ultimate rod for the inshore waters of the Northeast.

Hi, I plan on getting saragosa 6000 and the Teramar xx NE. I am having a difficult time deciding on whether to get the MH or the H. Which power would you recommended? Thank you.

Hi Mel, Depending on what your fishing for, I would recommend the Shimano TXNS70MH Teramar XX Northeast Spinning Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-txns70mh-teramar-xx-northeast-spinning-rod.html This would be a ideal size rod that would work for many different inshore fishing applications. I have a shimono twin power 6000 and would like  a rod for tautog . I am torn between the medium heavy fast 7.0 and the 7.0

med. heavy x fast action. I do a lot of jig fishing with 1 1/2 to 3.0 oz jigs with crabs. Please tell me what rod you would suggest. I like to let the big ones eat for a while undetected

Which model would pair best with a Thunnus 8000 for livelining big bunker?
1 Answer
Hi Mike, I would recommend the 7" Heavy action rod. Specifically model: TXNS70H; TackleDirect Code: SHM-4325. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-txns70h-teramar-xx-northeast-spinning-rod.html. This rod is rated for up to 4oz lures and has a solid backbone while also not comprising sensitivity. This would be ideal for livelining bunker for large stripers and would accomodate your Shimano 8000 Thunnus nicely. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Would the TXNS70M be a good match for a Saragosa 6000 or would a different model match up better? I recently bought the reel and am now trying to find a rod for it. Thx!
1 Answer
It can be depending on what LB test braid you are using if you plan on using the reels full range of braid 30-65lb I would recommend the

TXNSX70MH as better fit for your reel.

Does the Teramar txns70h goes good with a Saragosa 10000 for big tarpons and bill fish?
1 Answer
These rods are more designed for the inshore waters of the Northeast U.S., but they could definitely be used for mid-size tarpon and smaller billfish such as sails and smaller marlin.
