Redesigned for 2021, the Shimano Teramar Northeast Casting Rods are specially designed to cater to the needs of anglers fishing the inshore and nearshore waters of the Northeastern United States. Constructed using Shimano's proven TC4 rod technology, the Teramar Northeast Series provides exceptional balance and power to dominate in the toughest of battles. TC4 blanks have a fantastic reputation for being among the most durable in the industry and have tremendously strong backbones. From tip to butt, Shimano tailored every aspect of these rods to align with all of the prevalent fishing techniques for targeting popular game fish species. Teramar Northeast rods feature a Seaguide guide train, Fuij reel seats and refined EVA grips and handle configurations to enable anglers to comfortably fish all day with little fatigue when fighting hard-charging fish. Anglers in the New England and Mid-Atlantic fisheries will find the perfect models for things like slinging poppers to ravenous bluefish, live-lining bunker for striped bass, and deep water bottom fishing for fluke and black seabass.

Looking to use this rod for haddock/pollack fishing in the Gulf of Maine. Would a 7'6" heavy be good for jigging using a 14-18 oz jig? Looking to add Daiwa 15H as the reel.
1 Answer
I would actually recommend using a Lamiglas Triflex 7'6'' 6-16 oz lure weight rod if you plan on use that heavy of a jig.

Which model would you recommend for live lining bunker and eels as well as for trolling? This would be for stripers and blues. Thanks! Which reels would you pair it with?
1 Answer
We suggest going with a 7' Tallus (SHM-2436) instead of the Northeast rods. The Tallus are better all around rods and if you are trolling, it is much better. As for reels, look at the Avet MXL MC reels.

On the teramar model 2219 would i be able to use 15lb power pro and will the rod be able to handle 8 to 10 oz weight. Some times, when fluking, depending on conditions you may have to use heavier oz weights to get to bottom. Also does shimano make any other casting or conventional rods that might be a little shorter say 5' 8" to 6" 3" that would work for Fluke
