A heavy-duty series of stand up rods for those targeting large pelagics, the Shimano Talavera Bluewater Ring Guide Uni-Butt Conventional Rods are built to meet the demands of the toughest offshore trolling applications. Featuring extremely powerful rod blanks and the most rugged components, this series is designed to pair with your 50 and 80 class reels to target massive game fish that lesser rods simply wouldn't handle. These rods feature nearly indestructible ALPS aluminum straight uni-butts that quickly and easily slip out of rod holders and lock into your fighting belt with an aluminum gimbal. Equipped with heavy-duty Fuji Aluminum Oxide Ring Guides (non-roller turbo guides), these rods can be effectively fished with both monofilament and braided lines. Sure to fit well in the arsenals of pelagic trophy hunters on any coast, this series provides the strength and reliability you'll require when battling big wahoo, marlin, tuna, and more.

Looking to pair with Shimano speedmaster 2 25 for trolling for tuna, wahoo, and dolphin. Would that be a good combination?

Hi Todd, The Shimano TEBC60XHUBA Talavera Bluewater Ring Guide Uni-Butt Rod would be a great rod. However since its out of stock I would also recommend the Star Rod EX3080C-6 Aerial Stand-up Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/star-rods-ex3080c-6-aerial-stand-up-rod.html These would pair great with your shimano Speedmaster 25's for various trolling applications. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Looking to pair with an avet exw30. Planning on mostly using  to chunk for tuna and possibly some light trolling.  Never plan on using heavier than 80 lb mono or 130 braid.  Would the xh be enough or should I go with the xxh ?
1 Answer

XH would be enoughfor your application.
