Showcasing the latest and greatest achievements in reel engineering, the Shimano Stella FK Spinning Reels continue the Stella's legacy of standing at the apex of spinning reel technology. New for 2022, the Stella FK is loaded with never before seen features and technologies that push the boundaries of spinning reel performance. Built upon Shimano's foundation of cold-forged HAGANE gears for added strength with the refinement of MicroModule II technology, new InfinityXross technology extends the gear tooth horizontally to distribute load across the gear tooth more evenly for unequaled gear durability. To enhance winding power under heavy loads, the Stella FK has adopted InfinityDrive, a technology passed down from Shimano's most powerful saltwater spinning reels. This feature optimizes torque by up to 26% through the use of a main shaft supporting structure to eliminate friction within the pinion gear. To increase drag durability by as much as 10 times, an all-new Duracross drag system provides the smooth drag payout of felt with the renowned toughness of Shimano Cross Carbon. New spool and rotor innovations combine to improve both casting performance and line management. Shimano's new InfinityLoop technology extends the spool oscillation to produce a more even line lay that flows off the spool with decreased turbulence during the cast. The result is smoother, longer casts and fewer tangles. New features such as an Anti-Twist Fin on the underside of the roller, a redesigned drag knob, and fortified propulsion lip aid in the perfected management of line for a trouble free fishing experience. Recent Shimano technologies such as Long Stroke Spool, SilentDrive, X-Protect and more make their way into the design to help deliver the impeccable casting performance, strict tolerances, and maximum durability anglers have come to expect from a Stella.

Great reel

Been using this on the North Shore of Long Island for Striped Bass paired with an ODM back bay and 20lb powerpro original.

The new line lay has added a ton of distance on my cast. That, and the line retrieve per handle turn makes reeling in a fish from the end of the cast alot easier in comparison to my Vs100.

Highly reccomend this reel
Pros
  • Line lay
  • Retrieve speed
Cons
  • Not braid ready, needs mono backing.

Would the Stella FK or SW be better for inshore fishing on the bank primarily for striper halibut and Rick fish. On a 710 century weapon jr

Hi Carlos, Based on your fishing application I would recommend a Shimano STLSW4000XGC Stella SW C Spinning Reel. These have a IPX-8 Water-Resistant Body and Water resistant drag and would be ideal for your fishing application. I would also recommend a Shimano TPSW4000XGC Twin Power SW C Spinning Reel. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tpsw4000xgc-twin-power-sw-c-spinning-reel.html This also has a IPX-8 Water Resistant Body and Water resistant drag and would be very durable over time and be ideal for your salwater inshore fishing applications. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
