The real is very smooth and it has plenty of stopping power. The rod is very sensitive but has a lot of back bone.

Would this combo handle mahi? And would the rod pair with a 1000 for occasional bottom fishing?
1 Answers
It would handle Mahi and if you mean the 10000 Saragosa then yes that would fit the rod as well.

So i was wondering, if i were to get a reel for live baiting for bigger fish in the flats like reds and cobia, would you suggest the 5 or 6000 Saragosa or the new 5000 sustain loaded up with 30 lb power pro ? And also what rod to pair it up with ? (No specific price range)
1 Answers
The 6000 saragosa would be the right size reel another option would be the Spinfisher 6500LL and the rod to pair it with would be the 6'6'' Shimano Trevala Butterfly Jigging Spinning Rod

Could I put the reel on a different rod and take it to the surf and catch Pompano and other fish of that nature? Also could you jig with this?
1 Answers
Yes. The Saragosa 6000 would pair very well with a surf rod.
